Electric Appliance Use

in Europe

Know how electric appliances work in Europe before you travel.

If you don’t you could be paying to replace the carpet you burned a hole in when you used your curling iron and it exploded (don’t laugh -- it has happened).

The appliance on the left says INPUT 120 V, so you would need a voltage converter shown on the right. Notice that the converter says 1600 WATTS MAXIMUM, so if you have an 1800 watt hairdryer, it would not work.
The battery charger on the left says it can handle INPUT 100V-240V, so all you need for it is an adapter which just changes the shape of the plugs (right).

Be sure to get one that is for use in Europe, as other continents have different shapes.

This travel Iron can be used with either 120V or 240V but ONLY IF you remember to flip the switch to the correct voltage. To use it in Europe, you would need an adapter shown above with the switch on 240V.
